This Month’s Free Play Readings

The Trellis Reading Series is Back!

After a refreshing holiday break, we’re excited to start up our weekly staged reading series this week.  Every Tuesday at 7:00 we’ll be opening up one of our stages to playwrights, directors, performers, and companies looking to get their work in front of an audience. Following each free reading, stick around for a “drinkback” at our new bar, featuring half-priced drinks and a chance to chat with the artists.

Here’s what’s coming up this month:

1/28 – Hunger Pains
Written and performed by Christopher L. Moore
Directed by Mary Rose O’Connor

2/4 – Catching the Butcher
Written by Adam Seidel
Directed by Jeff Poole

2/11 – When in Disgrace (Haply I Think on Thee)
Written by Damon Krometis
Directed by Maggie Rogers

2/18 – Methtacular
Written and performed by Steven Strafford
Directed by Adam Fitzgerald

  1. It would be nice to have some idea of what each play is about. Please consider including a one-paragraph summary. Having that information might entice more people to attend, whether they’re in the trade or just regular theater-loving people.

  2. Hi. I thought there was a Tuesday night public reading for tomorrow night….August 19, 2014. Did something change…is there no play reading for tomorrow night? Sorry to bug you, just wondering. Linda Sapit, Chiago Playwright
